My co-worker replied: "What would make it perfect?" and I had no real answer.

When we take photos, it is an exercise, a building up of muscle memory and training of what works and what doesn't.

There's a sort of...truth, I think, to black and white images. It strips the process back to the basics of light and contrast and composition.

The 85mm, especially wide open at 1.8, brings a bit more of a slower and calculated shot. I never feel like I have to hurry with this lens.

Film brings a different type of joy to the art of photography. It's not a replacement; it's a co-author on the journey.

Time to take myself (and this blog) a bit less seriously.

Sometimes getting it right just means getting it done and letting it be done.
Content. It's hard to get anywhere online anymore without seeing or hearing the term, and I confess it's worn me down.

This site took me almost two years to make. Not because it's overly complicated, but because I overly complicated it.
